Eva Blomqvist

Swedish fiddler, born on 2 May 1956 born and raised in Norrahammar and living in Alvesta. She started playing the violin at the music school at the age of twelve. Folk music came into the picture early on, and together with playing partner Sabina Henriksson, she came into contact with several talented and inspiring Småland fiddlers, i.e. Tage Johansson and Bengt Löfberg. Eva attended folk music education at the Academy of Music in Stockholm 1979-1981, and has since been a violin teacher at the music school in Alvesta. She has also been a teacher at many song courses for all ages, mainly in Småland. Eva is a member of the folk music group SHE (38) and several other constellations. Eva became national fiddler in 1981 in Gränna and was awarded Zorn's gold badge in 2015. Eva was elected to the jury in 2019.
