Spanish conductor and instrumentalist (December 13, 1924, Caldes de Malavella - May 3, 1980 ). Founder of Orquesta Maravella. He came from a musical family, and his father and grandfather built and rented pianos, while adapting the music of the period to make punched rolls to play them. Lluís began to study music with Francesc Civil and priest Francesc Geli . After the war he played in the cobla-orchestra "Melodia" (1939), during his military service he played in the military band "Alcantara 33" of the Girona garrison and, subsequently, he played in the orchestras "Unión Farnense" (1946) and directed the Cobla Orquestra Els Montgrins (1945-1951). Above all, he was known for creating the Orquestra Maravella together with his brother Josep and his cousin Narcís Vendrell in his native town of Caldes de Malavella in 1951. After thirty years of work, this masterpiece of his contributed to making Caldes known around the world. [5] He recorded several albums of sardanas .
