Manco Sneed

Manco Sneed lived from 1885-1975. Sneed, a great Cherokee fiddler, was a student of his father, John Sneed, but also of other great fiddlers of the southwestern North Carolina region, especially Dedrick (J. D.) Harris. Sneed, like other traditional fiddlers of his area, were remarkable for using triplets and other complicated bowing patterns, and they had a repertoire that is unusual compared to that of modern day fiddlers.
