Hans-Ulrich Klose

German politician Born 14 June 1937 in Breslau, Province of Lower Silesia (today Wrocław, Poland). Died 06 September 2023 in Berlin, Germany. Hans-Ulrich Klose was a politician from the Social Democratic Party (SPD) and a former member of the German Federal parliament (German: Bundestag). He was the First Mayor (German: Erster Bürgermeister) of the Free and Hanseatic City of Hamburg from 1974 up to 1981, serving as President of the Bundesrat in 1979/80. Klose was also Vice President of the Bundestag from 1994 to 1998.
