Cletus Haegert

American songwriter, producer, and performer. Born July 29, 1941, Nash, Oklahoma Died December 17, 2009, Tims Ford Lake, Tennessee (68) After Clete graduated from Phillips University in Enid, Oklahoma in 1967, he moved to Nashville chasing Country music dreams. His song "Children", recorded by Diana Trask, hit #54 on the U.S. Country charts in 1968. He managed, produced and co-wrote with Bob Frank, landed Frank a record deal in 1972 on the Vanguard label before it was acquired by Welk Music Group. He was the lead singer of Clete O’Hagerty and his Irish Derry Aires, a group that sang songs every St. Patrick's Day. Clete also performed with the groups White Crow (1985), Old Rogues, and Sugartree.
