Les Philbrick (1943-1998) was an American guitarist. He was born in Littleton on March 30, 1943. He attended elementary and high schools in Plymouth. He was known statewide for his guitar playing and played in several bands including Crossfires, The Country Travelers and Ray Marden's Country Band. He also played backup for many country and western stars at the country and western jamborees held in the southern part of the state. Mr. Philbrick enlisted in the U. S. Army in 1964. He was a paratrooper with the 82nd Airborne Division at Fort Bragg, NC. He served in Vietnam during the last six months of his tour of duty.He also lived in Thornton, Wentworth and Concord. While living in Wentworth, Philbrick played in various area bands. He also worked at Oceanside Machine Shop as a machinist and at N.H. Electric Cooperative, Inc. as an appliance salesman, safety director and newswriter. . He was killed in a single car car accident in 1998.
