Robert Gauthier

Canadian (Québec) author, screenwriter, lyricist, and biographer born 1939 and died of cardiac arrest on March 27, 2015, in Saint-Jérôme. Married to Pauline Vincent. His career began as a playwright with Ballade pour un révolutionnaire, the first revolutionary play created at the Théâtre de l'Égrégore in 1965. In 1968, he created the first Quebec musical presented at Place des arts: . His meeting with musicians is beneficial to him since he becomes a lyricist. From 1965 to 1976, he multiplied the titles. After a stay in Cameroon, he returned to playwriting as a screenwriter. This was followed by ten years of writing series and documentaries for television. His biography of Jacques Normand, "L'Enfant Terrible" (Éditions de l'Homme; 1998) became a bestseller. Co-founder of the Centre d'essai des auteurs dramatiques (CEAD) in 1965 and Founders of the Association des auteurs des Laurentides in 2001.
