Bluegrass fiddler. Born May 29th, 1955 in Havre de Grace, Maryland. Lives in Kernersville, NC. From 1979 to 1982, he performed and recorded with the Bluegrass Cardinals. He also performed, as a Bluegrass Boy, with Bill Monroe and The Bluegrass Boys. He has performed and/or recorded with Lester Flatt and The Nashville Grass, Jim and Jesse and The Virginia Boys, The Country Gentlemen, Doyle Lawson and Quicksilver, Country Gazette, Del McCoury, Tony Rice, Terry Baucom, Easter Brothers, Larry Stephenson, Bill Emerson, The Churchmen, McPeake Brothers and many others. Tim has his own record company, TRS Records, and publishing company, Big Baby Boy Music (BMI). His CD releases include “1978 World Champion Fiddler”, “Favorite Pastimes”, “Straight From The Heart”, “Plain and Simple”, “The Lonesome Blueridge”, “Fiddler Tim Smith & Friends” and “Fiddler Tim Smith & Friends-Volume 2”, on the TRS Records label.
