The News ia three-piece girl band formed in 1985. In 1989, they appeared on イカすバンド天国 (Ikasu Band Tengoku a.k.a. Ika-Ten), a late night music contest show that helped promote indie bands. They received the "Best Spirits Award" at the "Ika-Ten Grand Prize" at the end of the year. Was signed with Ika-Ten, and are now under ING.
