Bob was Born in Appleton, Wisconsin (born in Appleton on March 8, 1941, died, Tuesday, March 22, 2022 in Bellevue, TN). Bob’s passion was music. The birth of rock ’n roll was on the horizon just as he was becoming a young man in the late 1950s. He was smitten with the Fender Stratocaster guitar sounds of Johnny Meeks and Cliff Gallup. He was a lifelong Gene Vincent and The Blue Caps fan. In later years he became friends and performed in this band, wearing their blue cap and fulfilling a lifelong dream. He started on bass guitar and quickly became a gifted lead guitar player. Bob played in many popular local bands and loved all kinds of music. He particularly loved rockabilly music. He created and curated a comprehensive rockabilly tribute website where he honoured famous and lesser-known musicians. Bob inspired and encouraged all of his children to play guitar. Bob Timmers was the Rockabilly Hall Of Fame founder and official curator – launching the Hall in 1997.
