Leslie Milton

Talented drummer born in New Orleans in 1938, and nephew of Ernest ‘The Kid’ Milton, a famous New Orleans show drummer. In the early 60’s, Leslie played drums on The Rivingtons' hit "Papa Oom Mow Mow", becoming acquainted with Mac Rebennack and eventually moving to Los Angeles, where he met producers Bumps Blackwell and Quincy Jones, who began using him on recording sessions. He has recorded with Johnny Otis, Etta James, Ray Charles, Little Richard, Roy Brown, Ike & Tina Turner, The Watts 103rd St. Rhythm Band, Jackie DeShannon and many others. In 1977, Leslie moved to Seattle and started performing with the Blue Lights Band, the Slamhound Hunters, and joined Freddy James and the Rocking 88’s.
