Greek film director born on October 23, 1940 in Athens. Father of Alexandros Voulgaris (aka The Boy (6)) and Constantina Voulgaris. He started his career with the short films "O Kleftis" (The Thief) in 1965 and "Tzimis O Tigris" (Jim The Tigger) in 1966 which won several awards. Since then Pantelis Vougaris has written & directed some of the most prominent Greek films such as "Anna's Engagement" (1974) which won several awards in the Berlin Film Festival, "Happy Day" (1981), "Stone Years" (1985) which won a best actress award in the Venice Film Festival, "Quiet Days Of August" (1991), "It's a Long Road" (1998), "Nyfes" (2004) which was co-produced by Martin Scorsese. In 1973 directed the documentary "O Megalos Erotikos" (Mangus Eroticus) based on the same titled music work of Manos Hadjidakis.
