Country singer/guitarist. Born January 29, 1944, in Falcon, Missouri, USA. One of 10 children, she began to play the guitar and sing at the age of 10. She entertained locally by the time she was 15, performing as the Randolph Sisters with one of her sisters, but soon followed a solo career. She was featured on the Ozark Opry and worked with a band on Austin's Nashville Opry before moving to Nashville in 1965. She joined Roy Acuff and toured with him all over the USA, the Caribbean and Vietnam. Her performances led to solo spots on Hee Haw and the Mid-Western Hayride. In 1961, she recorded for United Artists and in 1971 for Epic but failed to chart on either label. She moved to Mega (2) in 1972 and gained her first U.S. country chart hit with "Nothing Can Stop My Loving You." Her biggest chart hit, "Chip Chip," came in 1974, the year she made her British debut at London's Wembley Festival as a support member of the George Jones - Tammy Wynette Show. When Jones' mother died suddenly and the two stars returned to the USA without appearing at the festival, she found herself the star rather than the support, and gained respect from the crowd for her fine performance with the Jones Boys. After a minor hit with "The Cowboy And The Lady" in 1976, her name was missing from the charts until 1987 when, recording on Showtime Records, she briefly charted with "Don't Stay If You Don't Love Me."
