EXES was born out of the band Tropics whose line-up and sound has gradually changed over the years into the beast it is now. Whilst respectful for the beginnings that slowly brought them together, a new chapter deserves a new name. Their debut LP offering “Phantasmaboring” is the culmination from all four of its creator’s vast experience in procuring relentless and challenging music through many different guises. From the sheer brutality of trans-atlantic hardcore outfit, Narrows, to the angular unpredictability of math-rock/post-hardcore Gods, Meet Me In St Louis. The result is a hard-hitting blend of punishing discords complimented with hints of melody, all of which is tied together with an unparalleled need to be much louder than loads of other bands. In an effort to ensure the quality and presentation of this debut is as accurate representation of the material, the band worked closely with talented friends from various backgrounds and methods to produce the final document. It was recorded aboard Lightship 95 with Rory Atwell (Warm Brains), mixed with Tim Cedar (Part Chimp) at Drop Out and mastered by Frank Merritt at The Carvery. The album is a self release and the final document will be presented as a hand numbered limited run on super middle weight vinyl with hand made sleeves and download.
