Scott Arford
Настоящее имя: Scott Arford
Об исполнителе:
If one word could summarize Scott Arford’s body of work, it would be 'static'. His work encapsulates every sense of the word: infinitely complex and simultaneously unchanging. It is an incomprehensible block of sound and image, discernable only in its finely detailed parts—proof that infinity is constructed of finite pieces. Arford’s audio and visual noise is nerve grating yet somehow obscenely tranquil. He creates a crackling, electric world - beautiful to look at but you can’t breathe it. Indeed, static is one of Arford’s primary building blocks: radio static, T.V. static, garbled transmissions, magnetic and electrical interference— technological and cultural by-products of a media obsessed society. As a diverse electronic artist, Arford has completed many different projects with sound and video. Working alone and with collaborators, his projects include sound art and music as Radiosonde, fully immersive multimedia installations and performances with TEST: a monthly cable broadcast Fuck TV, multi-monitor video and sound installations, a video freak show with Circus X, and graphic design for Armed & Loaded Recordings. Arford also runs 7hz, a warehouse/performance space which has featured noise artists such as Illusion of Safety, Zbignew Karkowski, Francisco Lopez, The Haters, Kazumoto Endo, and Scot Jenerik. 7hz has hosted film and video screenings as well, including Charles Pinion’s "We Await", the San Francisco premier of Marne Lucas and Jacob Pander’s "The Operation", and Matt Mitler’s "Cracking Up". Arford has screened works and performed live throughout the West Coast and Europe.
