American keyboardist (harpsichord, piano), arranger, and composer. Born June 11, 1924 Brooklyn, New York, USA Died December 15, 2006 in Westfall Township, Pennsylvania, USA. He started studying piano at the age of eight. At fourteen he was instructed by Adolph Schmidt, head of Juilliard's orchestration department. Coldin started his professional career when he was quite young, and by the age of 21, he was a staff pianist at CBS, a position he held for more than 15 years. He began to write for various orchestras on the network. He arranged for Alfredo Antonini and Ray Bloch. His film scores include "Run Across The River" and "The Kiss" (the latter short film nominated for an Academy Award in 1959). He was a U.S. Army World War II Veteran. He also composed under the name of "Sandy McVane". Some of his more pop songs were written with Tony Prescott (3).
