Ovni

OVNI are a three-piece "folktop" ensemble whose unique listening electronics primarily spanned the period 1997-2005. Hailing from Boulder & Denver, Colorado, and Boston, Massachusetts, the artists were also instrumental as the collaborative trio behind Techno iRadio webcaster RadioValve.com in the mid-1990s. Part experimental downtempo, part electronic noise, the group took influences from the Industrial and Ambient/IDM sub-genres, with live VJ synchronization a component as important to their work as the audio production. Their largely underground productions also gained a brief audience through Addictive TV’s UK series. In 2002 the group were honored as artists-in-residence at the Morris Graves Foundation as part of their North American West Coast “Future of Kitchen Design” tour.
