Spanish-language tenor (Panamá, April 30,1886 - Miami, April 4, 1963). In his home country, Briceño was the first tenor of the Panamanian Opera. Around 1918, he emigrated to the United States. As part of a quartet with Carlos Molina, Manuel Valdespino, and Jorge Añez, he performed all over Canada and the United States. Between 1922 and 1933, he and Añez formed a well-known duo: Briceño Y Añez that made numerous records for Victor in New York. For Brunswick's Vocalion label, Briseño recorded under the pseudonym Gastón Flores. In addition, Briceño performed and recorded with many other famous singers, such as Héctor Lara, Ernesto Boada, and Antonio Utrera, and accompanied Colombian composer Ángel Maria Camacho y Cano on some of the first recordings of Colombian porros and danzones costeños.
