Juliette Bise

Swiss contralto and soprano vocalist. Born 20 Decembrer 1922, died 23 May 2011. Juliette Bise was born into a Friborg family of non-musicians. She is first spotted by the priest of the church where she sings. She took courses at the Geneva Music Conservatory and then perfected her skills abroad. Juliette Bise worked from 1948 to 1955 at the Grand Théâtre de Genève. Performing in many European cities until 1974. She was also a teacher. First teaching from 1954 to 1972 at the Friborg Conservatory and then from 1972 to 1988 at the Lausanne Conservatory, also giving master classes throughout Europe and received students at her home in Bern, organizing artists' evenings and private concerts. Her teaching is renowned and among his students are some of the main Swiss soloists of the time: Magali Schwartz, François Loup, Philippe Huttenlocher, Eric Tappy, all linked, among others, to the choir and orchestra conductor Michel Corboz.
