Swiss Bliss

Swiss Bliss is the union of two indie rock deities, Switzerland sensations SportsGuitar, whose new single has brought them a downpour of excitement & admiration from indie rock enthusiasts, & nyc psych-rock queen Azalia Snail, whose recent split single with Sebadoh brought her to the attention of a new batch of believers. SportsGuitar were fans of Azalia's music, & sent her a fan letter along with a copy of their self-released cd, "Fade/Cliche", this past fall. Likewise, Azalia found herself hooked on SportsGuitar's insanely catchy songs, & being the European touring fiend, she soon wound up in the mountains of Switzerland, where the members of SportsGuitar had been living a tour-free, quiet, unrock, idyllic life. Little did SportsGuitar know that their European cd would soon find its way into the hands of record label people in the U.S., & that word of the Sports sound would soon spread like wild-fire through the indie rock confederacy, & faster than they could say "Shoney's" they'd find themselves burning rubber on every interstate from Maine to Oregon, four members crammed on top of equipment into a Lincoln continental, after being given a grant to tour the states from a Swiss government that actually helps bands who tour the U.S.! Azalia, along with her trumpet player Gary Olson, & Kalimloa player Andy Nelson, hooked up with their new favorite band before the onslaught of stateside admiration would creep in. The two groups became fast friends, drank some good European beer, took in some scenic roadtrips, & recorded some songs together in the basement of a Swiss chalet! These three gems are the result! Bringing to mind Syd Barrett on a few less hits of acid, backed by Spacemen 3, the first two tracks, "Too Much Juice" & "Monster on the Pond" are amazingly irresistible, & you get the perpetual b-side "Institution" to boot!
