Kent Olofsson

Swedish university professor, rock guitarist, composer of contemporary and electroacoustic music, born on March 3, 1962 in Jämjö, Karlskrona, Blekinge. In 2021, Olofsson was appointed to Professor in Stage for the profile area Concept and Composition at Stockholm University of the Arts. Kent Olofsson is a rock musician who became a composer and eventually a composition teacher in electronic music at The Malmö Academy Of Music. In 2018, he defended his doctoral thesis "Composing the Performance" at Kungliga Musikhögskolan I Stockholm in which he investigates how musical composition can be used as a 'dramaturgical strategy in contemporary experimental theatre'. As a rock guitarist and composer, Olofsson has been a member of Zart (3). Earlier, in the mid 1990s, he was a founding member of Dame Wiggens, and, in 1977, he was one of the founders of Opus Est. He has also collaborated and composed for various performances and film with Nina Jeppsson.
