Swedish composer, conductor and singer, born September 29, 1965. She studied 1987–91 at the Malmö Academy of Music with singing studies for Evy Bråhammar and finished with a rhythmic pedagogy degree. It was followed by singing studies in New York for Oren Brown and for Maria Therésa Uribe in Budapest. Between 2000 and 2007, she studied composition at the Malmö Academy of Music for Rolf Martinsson, Hans Gefors, Kent Olofsson, Björn-Tryggve Johansson and Luca Francesconi and after graduating in 2007 has been active as a composer based in Lund. She is an experienced choir singer, active in Petri Sångare and has been conductor of Carolinae Damkör in Lund since 2003. She has also been active as a conductor, including in Boelspexarna. She has been awarded several times for her compositions, including at the Sacred Music Festival in New York for the work Man. She has written chamber music, works for orchestra, solo, opera, oratorio, requiem, film and theater music, but with an emphasis on choral music in all settings. She has also written a large number of arrangements for voices. Ulrika Emanuelsson received STIM's scholarship in 2007 and was elected to the Swedish Composers' Association in 2008 and to its board in the spring of 2016. Also a board member of the Swedish Choir Leaders Association since 2016 and a representative of KVAST (Female Accompaniment of Swedish Composers) in Skåne. She is the initiator of the charity initiative Choir Aid, which since 2015 gathers a large number of Scanian choirs for an annual joint concert in Lund in support of those in need.
