Elísabet Waage

Elísabet Waage is a classical harpist and pianist from Iceland. Elísabet Waage was fascinated by the harp as a child and learned to play the harp at the Reykjavík Music School. She studied with Edward Witsenburg in The Hague in the Netherlands and graduated as a soloist and teacher in harp playing from the Royal Conservatory of Music. Elísabet worked for a while in the Netherlands but moved back home in 2002. Since then she has e.g. performed with the Caput Group, the Iceland Symphony Orchestra, the Reykjavík Chamber Orchestra and the Graduale Nobili Choir. She plays in violin and harp duo with Laufeyja Sigurðardóttir, cello and harp duo with Gunnar Kvaran and in a trio with soprano Björg Þórhallsdóttir and organist Himar Erni Agnarsson. In addition, she regularly plays with various other chamber ensembles and choirs, plays at church services and banquets, and teaches the harp.
