Martin Ewers

German conductor and composer (* October 01, 1886 in Hamburg, German Empire; † February 02, 1960 in Munich, Germany). Worked with various orchestras, such as the Schutzpolizeikapelle Liegnitz, in the Flora-Varieté Hamburg, and at the Plaza, Berlin. A member of the NSDAP since 1929, Ewers rose to SA Obersturmführer (Second Lieutenant) in 1934 and later to Sturmhauptfüher (captain). Starting in 1933, he made several recordings on Grammophon and Kristall as Musikzugführer (marching band leader) of an SA marching band, S(elbständiger) Sturmbann XII, Untergruppe Ost, Berlin [= Independent Storm Battalion XII, Subgroup East, Berlin]. Later, he led the marching band of SA-Brigade 29, Berlin.
