Olof Misgeld, born on May 9, 1973, is originally from Uppsala, but lives and works in Stockholm as a freelance musician, dance player, theater musician and member of several of the more cross-border ensembles of the folk music world. Olof's violin playing is deeply influenced by his studies of traditional playing styles from different parts of Sweden, but also has an aptitude for improvisation with influences from different kinds of music. Olof has his formal education from Kungliga Musikhögskolan I Stockholm, where he is now employed as one of two Directors of Studies at the Department of Folk Music. Stockholm Vodou Orchestra A unique Stockholm-based 13-man band playing original music by composer and percussionist Kristina Aspekvist. The music is based on traditional percussion rhythms from different parts of West Africa, which are combined with elements from afrobeat, funk, jazz and Swedish folk music. Burning is called the group's debut album and came in 2014, but the orchestra was formed in 2001.
