Mies Bouhuys

Dutch author and activist, born 10th January 1927 in Weesp, died 30th June 2008 in Amsterdam. She was married to poet [a4634926] from 1957 until his death in 1970. Bouhuijs wrote children’s books, poetry, musicals, and children’s series for radio and television. After her death in 2008, she left her estate to Stichting In Den Vreemde, a trust set up by her to support artists, intellectuals, journalists, scientists and activists that were not allowed free expression of their art or ideas.
