Dr. Benjamin Bernfeld (1928-2011) He studied music in Bucharest and electrical engineering in Leningrad, with major in acoustics. During the 60s and until 1974 he worked as a Tonmeister for Electrecord, before he moved to Frankfurt. After some years in France where he received his Doctor of Engineering degree from Strasbourg University and was the first chief sound engineer at IRCAM, he moved back to Germany to Freiburg. There he opened one of the first digital editing studios in Germany and worked for the Harmonia Mundi label. Father of Ben Bernfeld.
