Born in 1925 at Skálar on Langanes, Iceland. When he was ten years old he began studying at the Reykjavík College of Music, then the youngest student ever. Piano player, choir director, composer. He produced nearly a hundred works: songs, film scores, music for theater productions, orchestral and chamber music. He was olso the first person in Iceland to compose electronic music, with the work 'Electronic Study' (1959). He died in 2005.
