Thomas Henry aka Gator Dash was born 1971 in Port-au-Prince, Haïti. Soon after his birth, his parents emigrated to the United States and settled down in Brooklyn where a large Haïtian community is situated. In the US, he has composed for Gougou Dolls and has been a singer/composer of the group Jolson Lips. He has played live accoustic shows for "Ten Thousand Maniacs" and done the opening show as Gator Dash for Iggy Pop and La Mano Negra at a festival in Buffalo (New York). In 1990, he moved to Montreal (Canada). He worked at the creation of some songs with Kid Koala and arranged some tracks for him. He did a few concerts at the "Foufoune Electrique". In 1994, he left for the Caribbean (Haïti, Dominican Republic and Venezuela). He played live with some Rara groups (Bookman Experiences, King Passy) and produced various hip hop artists. In 1997, Henry moved to Europe starting in Belgium, where he played in some concerts and accompanies with accoustic guitar. He then moved to Germany (Munich) where he also played at quite a few concerts and produced himself as a DJ. Finally in 1999, he arrived in France, where he opened a bar called le Lambi. Alongside these projects, he also created a number of paintings, some of these are part of the design to his album "Back To My Family". He regularly exhibits his work through his association "Bookan Art" (shown at Comptoir du Jazz, Bordeaux and at l'Oeil sur L'Art art gallery, Cadillac). His paintings are now mostly in New York, and also scattered around the French Territory (Paris, Bordeaux...). He then sat up a recording studio in Bordeaux in which he composes his albums and surrounds himself with some of the best musicians found in the Bordeaux scene. To accompany him in the interpretation of his compositions, the mixing of his album was done by Toirés.
