Vernon McIntyre

American Bass player and comedian in bluegrass bands. Born 25 May 1921 Craggy, Buncombe County, North Carolina, USA Died 29 Dec 1980 (aged 59) Damascus, Montgomery County, Maryland, USA. Bands included Earl Taylor's Stoney Mountain Boys, the Morris Brothers, the Stanley Brothers and his son Vernon McIntyre Jr.'s band Appalachian Grass. While with Earl Taylor he was part of the first bluegrass band to play at Carnegie Hall (1959).
