Systahood

Systahood was a female hip-hop duo from East Orange, New Jersey, formed by female emcees Kandi Kain and DJ Twista. In 1995 their two-track demo appeared in The Source’s Unsigned Hype Column, and two years later was released through True Records. Its first song, ”M.O. Money” features a collabo of female rhyme wonder Sakinah Britton, aka Sah-B, who’s better known for her collabos with Lords Of The Underground. After they called it quits, DJ Twista and Sah-B co-founded a charitable organization to combat juvenile deliquency and opened an hair salon, both called ”Systas 4 Systas” and settled in East Orange. Kandi Kain has also appeared on Naughty By Nature’s ”Connections” and Miilkbone’s ”Set It Off”.
