Red Letter Day (3)

Red Letter Day was an emo band from Davie, Florida founded by ex-members of As Friends Rust in the spring of 1997. Henry Olmino, Matt Crum and Jeronimo Gomez, who had all previously played together in the band Wayside, decided to pursue a band without Damien Moyal, thereby ending As Friends Rust. The trio asked former Wayside vocalist Robert Rudas to rejoin the band, naming the new project Red Letter Day. They recruited Darryl Bonebrake on drums (Crum having moved to playing guitar). After recording their self-titled EP, Rudas was kicked out of the band and replaced by former Vacant Andys vocalist Chris Carrabba. Former Culture (2) and Morning Again guitarist Steve Looker was also brought in as second guitarist after Bonebrake departed and Crum returned to playing drums. By the summer of 1999, Olmino, Crum and Gomez started the side project The Rocking Horse Winner, while Carrabba was busy with Further Seems Forever. Red Letter Day eventually fizzled out by the end of the year when Carraba started Dashboard Confessional.
