Albert "Bert" J. Berdis is a advertising comedian, famous for his humorous radio, and television commercials. He was born on March 23, 1939 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA.[1] Besides starring in many of his own radio and television commercials he has also worked on television shows such as the 1980's version of "The Tim Conway Show", as a performer, and as a voice over actor on Beakman's World. He has won a total of 89 Clio Awards.[2] While working as a creative director for several different companies, he met Richard "Dick" Orkin, and they became partners in a company called "Dick & Bert". In 1978, after 3 years of commercials for "Time" magazine, Dick & Bert released a LP record of their of entire series of 21 radio commercial {up until that point} titled "Puffy Sleeves and other exquisite foolishness", published by Time.["Puffy Sleeves", back cover of album.] In the early 1980's they parted ways, and Bert joined Alan Barzman, and Jim Kirby, to form "Bert, Barz & Kirby". In a 1984 interview he and Alan explained the importance of humor in advertising.[3] In 1988 Kirby left the company.[4] Bert and Alan continued to work together through the late 1990's as "Bert, Barz & Company".[5] In the early 2000's he owned his own company "Bert Berdis & Company, Inc." Which he served as President Albert "Bert" J. Berdis. He also founded "Berdis Enterprises Inc." in 1984. Bert has a daughter named Brooke Purdy, whom he appeared with in the film she wrote, called "Quality Problems".[1]
