Edoheart is a poet, producer, dancer, and multimedia artist based in New York. Born in Nigeria in the rainforest culture of the Edo people, raised in Detroit’s 90's spoken-word community and in the global experimental performance-art scenes, Edoheart is described as "Afro-poetry over dubbed-out rhythms," "sculptural and avant garde," and "afropunk". She is a self taught musician and has been producing her own music almost exclusively since 2012. Her last several projects have been entirely self produced, recorded, and engineered in her home. She is the first indigenous African Butoh artist, and calls her unique performance style 'butoh-vocal theatre'.
