Italian singer, dancer, club-DJ, and TV presenter. Borm: 5 September 1950 in Le Lamentin, Martinique. Caribbean-born and naturalised Italian artist, in his youth Barbot initially moved to Paris, France with his family. In 1967, he was the lead vocalist of band I Cabala, although he mainly sang, danced, and DJ'd in various restaurants and clubs for the next few years, in order to survive. His eventual last DJ-ing job came in 1977 at the "Charlie Club" in Rome, Italy (a club owned by Beryl Cunningham's husband), and he moved to Italy as new, more high profile, opportunities arose. After being found by writers of Italy's RAI Radiotelevisione Italiana network, along with Stefania Rotolo, he gained popularity with the TV show "Piccolo Slam", featuring "Toccami" (1977), a track written with Puccio Roelens. He later gained an Italian chart #1, again with another TV related track, "Aria Di Casa" (1981), the theme to programme "Happy Circus", written with his wife Vivì Barbot. He continued with his musical and TV related work until around the end of the 1980s. He is husband to Vivì Barbot, they are parents to their son, club DJ Sasha Barbot.
