Philip White (b. 1981) is an American composer, electronic musician, improviser, and sound designer. Focused on non-liner feedback systems, White works with an array of digital and analog electronics to produce experimental music with noise, jazz and contemporary classical elements. He received BMus degree from the College of Charleston, and MFA in Electronic/Recorded Media from Mills College (working closely with James Fei). Apart from solo works, Philip White is a member of vocal/electronic duo R WE WHO R WE with Ted Hearne, thenumber46 duo with flutist Suzanne Thorpe, and works closely with Chris Pitsiokos. He has performed and recorded with many artists and groups, including Toshimaru Nakamura, Kronos Quartet, MV Carbon, Tomomi Adachi, Paula Matthusen, Sam Pluta, Peter Evans (2), Nate Wooley, Bob Bellerue, Weasel Walter, Hans Tammen, Aram Shelton, and Gene Coleman. Philip gave concerts at many prestigious and cult underground venues across the United States and Europe, such as Carnegie Hall, Brooklyn Academy Of Music, ISSUE Project Room, The Stone, Silent Barn, and Fylkingen.
