James J. Walker

American songwriter and later a politician, who served as the mayor of New York City from 1926 to 1932. He was best known for writing the lyrics for a 1906 hit, "Will You Love Me in December as You Do in May?" with music by Ernest R. Ball. Walker eventually entered politics in 1909.
