DJ Ride (2)

In 1990 Roland Redlinger aka DJ Ride opened the PAPAGENO in Upper Austria. In its first three years this club became established as a Crossover & Alternative Location. During this time Dj Ride discovered a liking towards Dancemusic. The Result was a weekly House & Tech-house event in the Papageno in 1992. At these Friday club nights Dj Ride formed together with national as well as international guests the musical part of the event. In 1996 Dj Ride went to Vienna, found another musical orientation and became a participant of the first regular Drum & Bass Club of Vienna, called Alien Bass. From this club the Dj-Team Smash ´n Ride developed, they created a lot of Events in Flex and Meierei in Vienna and always gave a very well-rounded Dj-Set to the audience. In 1998 DJ Ride founded with two buddies the WIRR in the seventh district in Vienna. The concept was to run a Cafe´ and restaurant where people can meet and have a natter, downstairs they ran a lounge which established to a very smooth club where various Djs and Live Acts got together. In the same year a weekly club called Soundlab developed. This club defined itself through the musical fusion of electronic Soul, Jazz & Funk. Because of the musical spiritual kinship between the organizer of this event and Dj Ride a very close cooperation developed, so that he settled into the Soundlab-Collective.
