Milou Struvay

Milou Struvay (born 29 November 1936, Verviers, Belgium - died 29 November 2005, Liège, Belgium) was a Belgian trumpeter, active from the 1950s through to the 1970s. He was a lyrical and sensitive player in the footsteps of Miles Davis or Chet Baker. He performed on the classic album "Jazz in Little Belgium" on which he plays with Jacques Pelzer and His Young Stars" (Jean-Pierre Gebler, Joël Vandrogenbroeck, Benoît Quersin and Vivi Mardens). He played with the New Jazz Quintet (comprised of Robert Jeanne, tenor sax; Hubert Chatelain, piano; Georges Leclerq, bass; Félix Simtaine, drums). The band performed at the Comblain-la-Tour jazz festival. Along with Jean-Pierre Gebler, he played on several Portuguese film soundtracks, including: "Nouvelle-vague" and "Belarmino". Milou played with Jean Pierre Gebler, Robert Jeanne, Pony Poindexter, Freddie Deronde, Pierre Vaiana, Antoine Cirri, André Klenes, Pierre Peusgen, Guy Cabay, Gerd Breuer, etc.
