Danish organist and conductor, born 14. September 1936, died 7. September 2019, educated at Det Kongelige Danske Musikkonservatorium and from 1960 to 1964 with Anton Heiller in Vienna. From 1964 to 2006 employed as organist at Sorø Klosterkirke and established in 1969 Sorø International Music Festival. Knud Vad was leader of Chorus Soranus from 1967 to 2007. In 1975 he began to play the organ works of Johann Sebastian Bach, which henceforth became a tradition every five years. For his work to the musical life of Sorø district, he received in 1996 'Egholtprisen'.
