Formed in Nashville in 1995, the alternative pop band The Evinrudes was led by the former husband-and-wife team of vocalist Sherry Cothran and writer/guitarist Brian Reed. They had a hit with the song "Drive Me Home." When they lost their contract with Mercury Records, the struggle of trying to make it in the music business took its toll and eventually their marriage and the band broke up.
