Paco Cortés

Paco Cortés. Granada, 1957. Guitarist. Paco Cortés did his basic training on stages throughout the world playing for dance in Mario Maya’s company. Together with this dancer and choreographer from Granada, he appeared in famous works such as ‘Camelamos Naquerar’, ‘Ay jondo’ and Macama Jonda’. He remained an accompanist playing for the cante of singers like Enrique Morente and Carmen Linares for whom he has been regular guitarist for some years. The playing of this man from Granada can be heard on recordings from a very young age. The first time his guitar was recorded was when he provided backup for Rafael Farina. In addition to Morente and Linares, the list of singers he has accompanied in the studio included Diego Clavel, El Piki and Paco Moyano. As soloist, Paco Cortés only recorded one record, ‘Calle del Agua’ (Cambayá, 1992).
