Anne Perry

English novelist, born in Blackheath, London, on October 28, 1938, and spent part of her childhood in New Zealand where, at the age of 15 together with schoolfriend Pauline Parker, she murdered Parker's mother in June 1954. The incident became the subject of the 1994 Peter Jackson film "Heavenly Creatures." After being released from prison, Hulme returned to England and became a flight attendant. For a period she lived in the United States, then moved to Scotland, where she published her first novel, "The Cater Street Hangman," in 1979 under the nom de plume Anne Perry.
