Josip Andric (Bukin , March 14th 1894 - Zagreb , December 7 1967) (some sources list March 11th as the date of birth) was bački Croatian composer, folklorist , collector of national treasures and musicologist . In Croatian literature, he made his mark as a travel writer , journalist , novelist , poet and novelist, and author of several biographies. He was born in the the remote rural Bukin. His mother was from the village of Flood , which became the center of numerous works. Later he lived in Pozega , also a frequent location in his works (there were only town Pozega, Pozega any region). His opus comprises more than 70 compositions for the drum, piano and orchestra. Especially worth mentioning is his work with tamburitza bands and tambura music in general, as well as several books. Author's first Bunjevačke opera , "Dužijanca" premier in 1953 in Subotica, the National Theatre . As a folklorist, he contributed to the recording of music from the Pozega region. For the collection of folk songs Backa Croats, prompted him to what was noted that Francis Kuhač in his collection of South Slavic songs recorded 47 songs from the area of Backa, of which only 10 songs on the Croats. He lead the effort to beatify Nicholas Tavelića into sainthood, after which a statue was erected on an altar in Jerusalem. He died in Zagreb in 1967.
