David Brown (42)

David Brown received his MFA in Music from the Center for Contemporary Music at Mills College in Oakland, California where he studied with Anthony Braxton and Kenneth Gaburo. Now living in Providence, his compositions combine found sounds with acoustic and electronic instruments to create collages of orchestral density. David has created sound design for theater and dance productions and produced several CDs of music including Arcana with the duo Outspan and settings of Ovid’s Metamorphoses and Paradise Lost read by Chris Turner. In performance he works entirely with acoustic instruments including voice, the Australian didgeridoo and a wide variety of percussion instruments and noise makers.
