Austrian mezzo-soprano and professor. She studied singing, song and oratorio, musical drama and singing pedagogy at the University of Music and Performing Arts in Vienna. Her training was expanded by the postgraduate singing pedagogical certificate (GPZ) from the Federal Association of German Singing Teachers. She began her career at the Vienna State Opera. This was followed by performances at the Salzburg Easter and Summer Festivals, a permanent engagement at the Frankfurt Opera and guest appearances at international opera houses, in roles such as Rosina, Cherubino, The Composer, Hänsel, Despina, Périchole, Lucretia (The Rape of Lucretia), Fjodor, Suzuki and Sweet Girl and Student Girl (Der Reigen - Boesmann). The artistic activity complement recitals, as well as appearances as a soloist in oratorios and in world premieres of contemporary works. The discography includes several recordings, including Die Frau ohne Schatten and Salome (Decca) and La Traviata (Naxos). Her two solo CDs with songs by Schubert, Schumann, Wolf og Grieg (Spotify) received awards. She has been teaching at the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna since 2008 (Habilitation 2014). She has given master classes in China, Iceland, Poland and Taiwan and since 2012 she has been a lecturer at the Austrian Master Classes, the Vocal Master Class Gleinstätten and the Voice Academy Baden. Since 2010 she has also been a member of the board of Evta-Austria. She was appointed university professor at the Antonio Salieri Institute for Singing and Voice Research in Music Education in 2019. She focuses her teaching on the individual, fine-tuned development of vocal skills, taking into account functionality and the promotion and refinement of artistic expression.
