Cellist and vocalist Karni Postel and producer and electronic musician Haim Laroz founded the Israeli duo Bikini in late 1994, releasing albums in 1995 and 1998. Their sound was an eclectic mix of classical music, dance, electronic music, reggae pop, hip hop and rock. They never achieved commercial success or significant airplay but attracted something of a cult following. Though they officially disbanded in 1998 the two musicians continued to work together, with Laroz contributing heavily to Karni Postel's more successful 2002 debut solo album. They also worked together on Vered Klepter's 2004 project Simnim (Signs), an album of musical inetrpretations of the works of poet Miron H. Isaacson.
