Dusty Negulesco

Ruth "Dusty" Anderson (Toledo, Ohio, United States, 1916 or 1917 – Marbella, Málaga, Spain, September 12, 2007) was an American actress and model who worked in the 1940s. She was a World War II pin-up model and appeared in the 'Yank' magazine. As Dusty Anderson she began her career as a model and made her film debut in 1944 in a minor role as one of the cover girls in 'Cover Girl starring Rita Hayworth. She appeared in some other films as 'Crime Doctor's Warning' (1945), 'Tonight and Every Night' (1945), 'The Phantom Thief' (1946) and 'Down to Earth' (1947) In 1946, Anderson married director Jean Negulesco, adopted her husband's last name and retired from acting but continued to collaborate with her husband by making some appearances in his films as a director ('Take Care of My Little Girl' (1951) or writing the lyrics of songs such as those of [m658880]. In 1971 the couple settled in Europe in retirement, first Paris then in Marbella, Spain, where she died in 2007.
