Георгий Фукс-Мартин

Georgy Fuchs-Martin (03 July 1905 - 05 June 1957) - Soviet conductor. German by nationality, member of the Communist Party of Germany since 1931. Graduated from the Higher School of Music in Sondershausen (1925). He also worked there as an accompanist in the opera, and as an opera conductor in theaters in Leipzig and other cities in Germany and Holland. He was the musical director of the "Collective of Revolutionary Actors" in Hamburg (1931-33). When Hitler came to power, he emigrated to the USSR (1933), and in 1937 he accepted Soviet citizenship. Since 1933, conductor of the Moscow Operetta Theater Orchestra = Оркестр Московского Театра Оперетты.
