Николай Стрельников

Nikolai Strelnikov (real name - von Mensenkampf = фон Мензенкампф; 1888-1939) - Russian lawyer, later Soviet composer, music critic, conductor. Honored Artist of the RSFSR (1939). One of the founders of Soviet operetta. The most famous of his works is the operetta “Холопка” (1929). In his musical activities, including composing, he used his mother’s maiden name (Strelnikova = Стрельникова) as a pseudonym.
